Melania Trump INSPIRED by Meghan Markle after Duchess called President 'misogynistic'

The First Lady stepped off Air Force One with US President Donald Trump in a chic navy dress. The £998 Calvin Klein dress channelled Meghan Markle’s style after she has previously wowed in fit-and-flare dresses during royal events. Melania’s inspiration could be a sign of the First Lady readying herself ahead of the state visit on June 3.

The Duchess of Sussex has chosen to wear navy during the RAF centenary celebrations as well as when she welcomed her mother Doria Ragland to the UK ahead of her royal wedding in 2018.

Despite Meghan’s fashion influencing the First Lady, the pair are not expected to meet in June.

Meghan will still be on maternity leave during the state visit next month.

However, her encounter with Trump could have been awkward after she previously described him as “misogynistic” and “divisive”.

Prince Harry is set to meet Trump for a private tea with the Queen at Buckingham Palace ahead of the state banquet that evening.

Melania is likely to miss out on a room in the palace despite US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle staying there in 2011.

The news is likely to come as a blow to Trump who is believed to hold Her Majesty in very high esteem.

There have been no reports as to where the Trumps, who are bringing their entire adult family, will stay.

Ivanka, Tiffany, Eric and Donald Trump Jr will accompany Trump during the visit.

A US Government source told The Sun: “Coming to England as a guest of the Queen is a big deal for the President.

“He wants to share the experience with his family. That is understandable.”

In a statement, the White House said: “President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump accepted the invitation from Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to visit the United Kingdom from June 3 to 5, 2019.

“This state visit will reaffirm the steadfast and special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.”
