Meghan McCain sorry to admit DNC looks like more fun than RNC

Republican scion Meghan McCain had to admit the Democratic National Committee’s convention roll call trumped what the Republican National Committee gave viewers last month.

“This is amazing,” she posted on X when rapper Lil Jon performed before his home state of Georgia officially offered its 123 nominating votes to Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

The high-energy roll call that featured DJ Cassidy spinning tunes as each state offered its delegates may have been a game changer in terms of how that ordinarily drab formality usually plays out.

“I’m sorry but this #DNC2024 roll call with DJ Cassidy, themed state music and party/club atmosphere is blowing the RNC’s roll call out of the water,” she continued. “It looks like a giant party and celebration and everyone in that room looks like they’re having a blast.”

Lil Jon — who appeared on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” reality TV show in 2011 — delivered a revamped version of his 2013 hit “Turn Down for What.”  Academy Award-winning musician Common also performed for an audience that included Oscar-winning filmmaker Spike Lee.

When the Republican Party nominated Trump at their convention last month, singer Lee Greenwood and Kid Rock performed, and professional wrestler Hulk Hogan ripped off his shirt in support of their candidate. The Democratic convention still has two nights remaining and more performances to come.

While McCain gave high marks to the Democrats Tuesday, she wasn’t crazy about what the party offered Monday. The conservative pundit blasted event organizers for running an event that lasted so long that outgoing President Joe Biden, 82, got pushed out of primetime and had to address those tuned in to watch him around 11:30 p.m.

She’s also no fan of Harris’ vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, who first labeled Trump and the Republicans as “weird.”

“I don’t know why this man keeps calling everyone else weird when he is embellishing a truly bizarre level of falsehoods in his life story,” she posted on X.

Walz has been accused of indicating his wife became pregnant through in vitro fertilization when she in fact used intrauterine insemination to conceive their son and daughter.

When he ran for Congress in 2006, Walz’s campaign reportedly told local media he wasn’t drinking the night he was arrested for DUI with a blood alcohol level of .128.

There’s also been questions about the military rank he retired with after serving in the National Guard for 24 years and what missions his service included.
