On Thursday the pair spoke on stage at the ‘Alternative Investment Summit’ in Miami, as the first indication of the very public way they seek to forge new career paths, after stepping down as senior royals. After claiming they want to be financially “independent” from the Monarchy, sources have come forward to speculate that the surprise gig could have earned them a significant sum of money and not everyone approves.
Harry spoke about his mental health in front of some of the world’s most influential individuals, including Jennifer Lopez and Tony Blair.
However, there have been reports that the couple could have earned up to $1 million (£700,000) for the post-Megxit appearance at the glitzy 1 Hotel in South Beach, where prices start at £361 a night for a room.
Now PR guru Mark Borkowski has come forward to slam the pair in a scathing new interview with the Daily Mail, as he questions Prince Harry capitalising on his personal issues for financial gain.
He said: “This shows how difficult it is going to be. They’ve got to make a lot of money and they are going to slip up on the way.
“The worry is how many of these type of gigs are there going to be?
“For JP Morgan, it’s an extraordinary “get”. They clearly have the money to afford them, but Harry and Meghan need to avoid being perceived as tacky.”
A separate source revealed to Page Six that Harry discussed at length his mental health struggle in the speech, and how he had turned to therapy to deal with the trauma of losing his mother as a child.

Another replied: “ Tired of the pity party these pair are throwing.”
A third said: “They are BOTH pathetic.”
Gayle King, a good friend of Oprah Winfrey who introduced Meghan to the stage, was grilled about the appearance by Daily Mail Online.
However, when confronted about her involvement with the couple, Gayle refused to reveal what happened at the summit.
She said: “What interview? Why do you think they were here?”
The TV host added: “Where do you people get your information from? I’m glad you’re in Miami.”
Gayle is not the only one reluctant to speak about the Sussexes, as employees of the hotel were reportedly handed non-disclosure forms to stop them from talking to the press.
A Miami based journalist tweeted: “We’re no stranger to presidents, mobsters, dictators, rock stars and movie stars down here. We see it all. But in my two decades of covering celebrity activity in Florida, I’ve never seen a tighter-lipped situation than this one.”
No official word has been given on how the jet setting Meghan and Harry made there way over to Miami from Canada.
According to Page Six JPMorgan’s private Gulfstream jet had flown to Vancouver Airport in Canada near to where the couple has been living, but it has not been confirmed that the couple boarded the private plane.
