Princess Kate has been praised as the “saviour” of the Royal Family while Meghan Markle “creates so much drama” and uses it to “rewrite history”, according to her Gary Goldsmith.
Uncle to Kate and brother to Carole Middleton, Mr Goldsmith entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night and wasted no time in sharing his views on the royals with the other housemates.
The 58-year-old criticised Prince Harry too for his tell-all memoir Spare, saying: “I mean, you can’t throw your family under the bus in such a dramatic style, then write books about it and expect to be invited round for Christmas.”
He explained to Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne: “So I have an opinion that Harry was really, really really loved and when they were a threesome, so Kate, William and Harry they got really comfortable together.
“And then suddenly there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don’t genuinely think is there, and rewrites the history, saying they’re unhappy with us and I just don’t think that’s fair.”
Despite Mr Goldsmith’s gushing over the Princess, sources have insisted he is not a trusted member of her inner circle.
Carole Middleton is said to have “read the riot act” to her brother over his reality TV appearance, although he has said he hopes she will be watching.
He told The Sun: “I think she (Carole) will probably be watching me from behind the sofa, slightly anxious, but I do think if the best version of Gary turns up, she’d be very proud of me — that’s what we were hoping for.”
He added: “Could you imagine if George and Charlotte watch? I mean it’s the type of show that a family could watch. But it’s past the watershed and will they be asleep by then?
“Maybe if I’m doing a weird task, Uncle Gary dressed as a chicken or something. But if I make people proud, I’ll be absolutely chuffed and maybe they’ll get to see it. But I need to work on my potty mouth first. I swear a lot.”
In the Big Brother house Mr Goldsmith asked Sharon Osbourne what the Americans make of the Sussexes, who moved to California in 2020.
