McDonald's launches new £5 meal deal and it includes side dish that’s not on menu

Fast food giant McDonald’s is rolling out a tempting new £5 meal deal, enabling burger enthusiasts to tuck into their favourites and pocket a saving of as much as £2.50 on certain items.

The enticing offer includes the choice between a staple Cheeseburger or Mayo Chicken, complemented with medium-sized fries, a medium drink, plus a bonus serving of four chicken nuggets—all for a smooth five pounds.

Individually, a Cheeseburger and Mayo Chicken are priced at £1.39 each, the fries come in at £1.69, and a medium drink costs £1.59.

While you can’t purchase four Chicken McNuggets separately, McDonald’s calculates an approximate price of £2.76 based on the cost of six nuggets.

Thus, buying these components separately would normally hit your wallet for £7.46 – meaning that this meal deal offers a cheeky save of £2.46.

This delicious bargain will be available daily from 11am across all McDonald’s branches, with these items selected due to their “strong fan favourites” status.

It’s important to note, though, that the deal is not applicable to delivery orders, and customising your drink will incur an extra charge.

In recent news, McDonald’s also made waves by announcing the return of the iconic McRib to its UK menus from October 16, sending nostalgia-loving fast-food fans into a frenzy.

The iconic McRib is making a tantalising comeback at McDonald’s, packing a boneless pork patty shaped like ribs, smothered in barbecue sauce, topped with onions and pickles, all nestled in a toasted bun.

To indulge in this solo treat will cost £4.49, or splash out £6.19 to turn it into a medium extra value meal, reports the Mirror.

In an enigmatic marketing move, customers were drawn in by mysterious phone screen messages reading: “McRib_Test.notification_16.10.24 [TEST]”.

Adding to the intrigue, “error” images flashed within the McDonald’s app hinting at the burger’s name and its much-anticipated return set for October 16.

Earlier in August, fans mourned the end of the three for £3 meal deal allowing a trio of delights from eight options at a steal.

If you’re ready to dive into the new £5 meal deal, just pinpoint your nearest Maccies using the online locator tool, pop in your postcode, and prepare for a feast complete with all relevant details, including opening hours.
