McDonald’s is coming for Wendy’s as it brings back popular discontinued item

MCDONALD’S fans will notice a new item on menus as chiefs have brought back a chicken product that was previously discontinued.

The addition comes as the fast-food giant’s rivals also expand their offerings to customers.

Diners will be able to buy McCrispy Strips at hundreds of restaurants from today – May 5.

And, they will have the chance to either buy a three piece or four piece meal.

Tastebuds will be dancing by the coating of the tenders – a combination of golden brown breading and black pepper flavor.

“Crispy, juicy and peppery, McCrispy Strips are the next big thing in dipping,” restaurant chiefs have said.

Diners will be able to dunk the tenders in a new creamy chili dip.

Bosses have admitted there has been a huge demand for the chicken product.

“The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait,” Alyssa Buetikofer, the company’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, told Restaurant Dive.

And, fans seem impressed by the new product.

“These McCrispy strips at McDonald’s is the best thing they got going,” one chimed on X.

“F**k, I love McCrispy strips,” another said.

Some have even claimed they will not go back to eating chicken nuggets now McCrispy Strips are available.

“Idk what they put in the McCrispy Strips, but damn they are addictive,” a fan said.

“May never go back to nuggets.”

McCrispy Strips are not the only chicken product that is being launched this year by McDonald’s.

The previously-discontinued Snack Wrap is also making a comeback.

But, fans are impatient as they call for restaurant bosses to put a precise date as to when the items will return.

All that diners know is the item will make its reappearance at some point during the year.

RIVAL CHICKEN PRODUCTS

Rival fast food chains are also rolling out new chicken products.

Last year, Wendy’s bosses rolled out a new saucy chicken nugget range.

Different-flavored nuggets from BBQ to buffalo and garlic parmesan hit menus.

Shoppers could either buy a four-piece, six piece, 10 or 20 piece meal.

The new nugget range hit menus across the US on June 10 2024, but diners that used the fast-food chain’s app were able to try the new item early.

Taco Bell bosses have also re-added a chicken nugget product to its menus.

Chiefs admitted that the demand for the product was “off the charts.”

A five-piece serving with a dip will set shoppers back $3.99.

The snack will be on menus for eight weeks, but bosses are looking to make the item a permanent fixture.
