MCDONALD’S has followed Wendy’s with a new style of french fry – and fans are begging for them to go nationwide.
The fast food giant has introduced the new style at one store in the US so far, and fans are already excited for the new addition.

Social media was set ablaze recently with the news of a new french fry style in McDonald’s in the US.
While the comments on the post suggest that these have already launched in other countries, this is the first reported sighting of them over here.
All it took was a couple of snaps of the treat on Facebook to send foodies rabid.
The post was uploaded on Sunday, revealing that potato wedges are now available at McDonald’s.
The caption said: “Ohhhh check out these potato wedges at McDonald’s – I tried them and these are absolute.
“These are at the McDonald’s International Restaurant in Chicago (1035 W Randolph).
“Would you want to see them release these nationwide?”
The snaps show the crispy golden wedges in all their glory, with what seems to be a decent portion, too.
The wedges are currently served in fries bags, but it is unknown if they would get their own packaging if they do go nationwide.
FANS SAY YES PLEASE
It’s safe to say that McDonald’s customers in the US are keen to see the wedges come to their local franchise.
The comments reflected a mixture of excitement at the prospect, as well as sadness that the wedges were so far away yet so close.
One person said: “Well, Wendy’s did a good job at them. McDonald’s probably could too!.”
And a second echoed the enthusiasm, very simply: “Yes I want McDonald’s potato wedges go to nationwide.”
And a third added, even more succinctly: “Yes.”
But some took the opportunity to reveal that these beauties have already launched in other parts of the world.
One comment revealed that they had been spotted in Poland, and another said they had a bite in Mexico.

It is not clear how long the wedges have been around for, and why they are only just now coming to the US.
The fast food industry is always a competitive one, and there are more changes coming.
The US Sun reported that the fast food giant is planning on expanding its drink selection for customers that have only seen then at CosMc’s so far.
McDonald’s concept chain has not been going for long, but has unlocked the idea of full customization for bosses.
It is unclear if the potato wedges are part of the chain’s plan to bring new items to customers.
The US Sun has reached out to McDonald’s for a comment.
