A MCDONALD’S top boss has spoken out on why the launch date of the iconic Snack Wrap – which has been MIA from the menu for nearly 10 years – has been kept so secret.
Although the fast food chain has teased when the popular item will make a comeback, foodies have deduced the exact return date of the beloved Snack Wraps based on two key reasons.

The iconic Snack Wrap is one of the most talked about fast food items, first launched in 2006.
The fan-favorite is made with a warm tortilla filled with chicken tenders, lettuce, cheese, and ranch sauce or honey mustard.
The beloved item, however, was discontinued in 2016, with McDonald’s employees claiming that the Snack Wraps were too time consuming to make.
The item’s disappearance from the menu prompted much outcry among fans, with countless social media posts begging for its return, as well as petitions and campaigns.
Playing on fans’ love for the hand-held meal, McDonald’s has teased its return for some months.
Rumors spread throughout last year that the Snack Wrap would make a comeback, and the fast food chain sparked a frenzy among foodies in December after posting a cryptic message on X that said, “snack wraps xx.xx.2025.”
The chain has continued to build up the hype, announcing another key detail about the Snack Wrap launch on Tuesday.
“Snack wraps 0x.14.2025,” McDonald’s wrote in an X post, teasing that the fan-favorite item would launch on the 14th of an undisclosed month.
The fast food chain previously shared why the launch date of the beloved item has been kept under wraps in an interview with Good Morning America in December 2024.
President of McDonald’s USA Joe Erlinger confirmed that the Snack Wrap would return this year, also noting that he was unable to share the exact return date for “competitive reasons.”
SNACK WRAP SLEUTHS
Although the fast food chain has yet to officially announce the month that the Snack Wraps will hit the menus again, fans have deduced the exact launch date based on two key factors.
Zach, the face behind a popular food content page on Instagram (@snachwithzach), has used his detective skills to predict when McDonald’s fans can once again get their hands on the beloved Snack Wrap.
“We have our best idea yet of when we’ll actually see it,” Zach said in a video posted on Tuesday.
“They tweeted today that it’s coming out on the 14th of a specific month, but we happen to have a little bit more information than that.”

The foodie explained that June was the “most likely candidate,” followed by May and July, and his prediction was based on key context information.
Zach explained that the release of new McCrispy Strips, set to replace the Chicken Selects, was rumored to be on April 29.
“The reason why June is the most likely candidate for the Snack Wrap release date is because May is a little bit too soon after the strips launch for it to really make sense,” he said.
The content creator noted that May 14, roughly two weeks after the McCrispy Strips’ launch, seemed too early and would detract from the attention on the strips.
The McDonald’s Snack Wrap

Fans have been begging the fast food chain to bring the item back to the menu nearly 10 years after it disappeared.
2006: The snack wrap was first introduced on menus in locations nationwide.
2016: McDonald’s began to phase out the wrap, with former and current employees saying it was too complicated and time-consuming compared to what it cost customers.
2020: Some individual franchises across the US were still able to make and sell the snack wraps for several years. By 2020, the item was removed across McDonald’s restaurants throughout the country.
2023: McDonald’s revealed it would increase its focus on chicken offerings, including a snack wrap, in the coming years.
2024: Stores in North Carolina were spotted testing McCrispy chicken strips, a key ingredient for the snack wrap.
2025: The snack wrap will return to menus in the US.
“Meanwhile, July is a lot later into the summer, so factoring in things like road trips, it’s a little late,” said Zach.
For these two reasons, the food enthusiast concluded that June 14 “feels right for the timing,” noting that although the date was speculative, he was “quite confident” about his prediction.
As McDonald’s teases the return of the Snack Wrap, the fast food chain has also taken on its rival Chick-fil-A with a new drink item – fans say it’s “way better.”
Meanwhile, parents are fuming after McDonald’s confirmed a new Happy Meal toy “limits access” to certain kids.
