McDonald’s employee reveals ‘secret return date’ of cult classic Snack Wrap after 10 years as chain stays quiet

A MCDONALD’S staffer has revealed the exact date of the Snack Wrap’s return nearly 10 years after its discontinuation.

The fast good giant teased its impending return in December and fans have been on the edge of their seats.

According to a TikTok video on Tuesday from an employee that makes content under the handle @mcdonalds_hacks101, Snack Wraps officially arrive on April 29, 2025.

“Wonder when chicken wraps/tenders return,” teased a caption in the clip.

“Well here it is….”

The date was seen for a brief moment on what appeared to be an internal memo from McDonald’s.

The U.S. Sun contacted McDonald’s for confirmation but did not immediately hear back.

If the date proves to be accurate, it’s massive for foodies nationwide who have been begging for the Snack Wrap to come back for years.

LONG TIME COMING

Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, notably explained in a recent interview with ABC News that it’s been one of the most requested menu items that he gets pleas for personally.

“It has a cult following,” he told the outlet.

“I get so many emails into my inbox about this product.”

Erlinger also added that McDonald’s decision to reinstate the Snack Wrap came out of “competitive reasons.”

McDonald’s CEO reveals top his three ‘fast food predictions’ this year

During McDonald’s fourth-quarter earnings call last month, CEO Chris Kempczinski also noted that chicken options on the menu were expanding.

“We’re excited about the significant opportunity we see within our chicken portfolio, and see the potential to add another point of chicken market share by the end of 2026,” he told investors.

Kempczinski did not mention Snack Wraps specifically, but analysts with financial services firm BTIG expected that McDonald’s McCrispy Chicken Strips, which it had been testing at select locations last summer, would arrive in April 2025.

It was predicted that Snack Wraps would follow in June or July.

The McDonald’s Snack Wrap

Fans have been begging the fast food chain to bring the item back to the menu nearly 10 years after it disappeared.

2006: The snack wrap was first introduced on menus in locations nationwide.

2016: McDonald’s began to phase out the wrap, with former and current employees saying it was too complicated and time-consuming compared to what it cost customers.

2020: Some individual franchises across the US were still able to make and sell the snack wraps for several years. By 2020, the item was removed across McDonald’s restaurants throughout the country.

2023: McDonald’s revealed it would increase its focus on chicken offerings, including a snack wrap, in the coming years.

2024: Stores in North Carolina were spotted testing McCrispy chicken strips, a key ingredient for the snack wrap.

2025: The snack wrap will return to menus in the US.

FEAR OF CHANGE

While most of the anticipation for the beloved item is positive, some customers aren’t sure how they feel.

Given that the Snack Wrap will likely contain the McCrispy Chicken Strips and there has been no indication of a grilled version like the “original” offerings, some are refusing to get it already.

“If it’s not the original I don’t want it,” a customer fumed in the comments on a Facebook post about the Snack Wraps from food insider Markie Devo (@markie_devo).

Someone else cried that McDonald’s will have “failed” if the new Snack Wraps aren’t the same as the previous iteration.

The exact ingredients haven’t yet been confirmed.

VALUE IN MIND

Kempczinski and CFO Ian Borden also noted on February’s earnings call that the Chicken Big Mac would be another recurring and limited time menu option after it saw some success before the E.coli outbreak linked to the Quarter Pounder with Cheese in October.

This is on top of McDonald’s intention to continue its focus on value.

Campaigns in 2025 so far for the company have been centered around its $5 Meal Deal and McValue Menu with the Buy One, Add One for $1 promotion.

McDonald’s also recently promised a probe for a customer after they waited “20 minutes” for a popular drink.

Some diners were also recently left “heartbroken” at McDonald’s redesign of a popular area.
