Martin Lewis warns of last chance for parents as cheap school uniform deal ends soon

Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert (MSE) website has sounded the alarm for parents as a bargain school uniform offer is about to expire.

While many schools are still in session, countless parents nationwide are already prepping for September’s academic kickoff. School uniform bargains tend to emerge early, which is a boon for parents, allowing them to stagger the costs throughout the summer before the new term commences.

Asda has kicked off its 20 percent discount on school uniforms exceptionally early this year but is also wrapping it up ahead of schedule. MSE cautions that parents have only until the stroke of midnight on Sunday, June 30, to capitalise on the promotion.

The MSE team broadcasted via X – the successor to Twitter – stating: “You can get 20% off school uniform at Asda until 11.59pm on Sunday 30 June, including two polo shirts from £2.40, two sweatshirts from £4 and more.”

Delving into the specifics on the MSE site, Martin’s squad clarifies that no coupon or code is necessary; the discount is automatically applied at checkout. Regrettably, this deal is exclusive to in-store purchases at Asda and does not extend to online orders, reports the Mirror.

You can pinpoint your nearest Asda using the retailer’s store locator here. It’s worth noting that the larger Asda outlets, typically housing a George clothing section, operate under limited hours on Sundays, usually opening from either 10am or 11am and closing at 4pm or 5pm.

The promotion includes:

  • 2x polo shirts – from £2.40 with discount (were from £3)
  • 2x sweatshirts – from £4 with discount (were from £5)
  • 2x skirts – from £5.60 with discount (were from £7)
  • 2x trousers – from £5.60 with discount (were from £7)

The MSE team has pointed out that prices can fluctuate based on the age of the child. Therefore, if you’re purchasing for an older child – for instance, a high school student – it will be pricier than clothing for a primary school-aged child.

The deal also does not include footwear, socks and tights, bags, accessories, and lunch boxes.
