Martin Lewis' MSE explains how to get Tesco Christmas delivery slots before they open

Christmas delivery slots are now open for Tesco – but only for customers with certain booking passes.

Shoppers with ‘anytime’ or ‘click & collect’ passes can start booking time slots now ahead of the rush.

However, Martin Lewis’s Money Saving Expert pointed out: “If you don’t have a pass, it’s now too late to bag Christmas priority access – you needed to have signed up by 11.59pm on Tuesday 4 November.”

It’ll be another week before Christmas slots open for everyone, with off-peak pass holders and those with no pass able to start booking their slots from Tuesday, November 12.

People can book delivery or click and collect slots online through Tesco.com or the Tesco Grocery and Clubcard app.

Be quick if you’re planning on buying through Tesco, as slots are known to fill quite fast.

MSE experts also suggest people use a supermarket comparison site, such as Trolley, to make sure they’re snapping up the best deals and cut costs.

For those who have missed out this year on priority access, MSE explained the perks of buying a pass in future, stating: “Buying a pass upfront means you don’t have to pay for delivery charges each time you order.

“But you’ll need to weigh up whether this is worth it based on how often you do an online shop and how much you normally spend on delivery.”

An anytime delivery pass is priced at £7.99 a month for six months, while a 12-month pass is priced at £6.99 a month.

For those looking for a slightly cheaper option, a Click & Collect Saver pass costs £2.49 per month for six months.
