Marks and Spencer shoppers are swooning over a linen dress and have been raving about it online. With summer on the horizon, many of us are in need of some stylish pieces for the sunshine.
The Linen Rich Strappy Midaxi Swing Dress from M&S is priced at £39.50 and comes in an onyx-green shade, as well as natural beige. The dress features a square neckline with two thick straps leading to a stretchy back.
It’s made in a midaxi length so it covers beyond the knees and ends just above the ankles.
The dress has amassed nearly 100 glowing reviews on the retailer’s website and many said they love the pocket feature. One shared: “The dress isn’t lined but that is good to keep cool and isn’t see through. And best of all – POCKETS and not silly token ones. I LOVE THIS DRESS.”
A second satisfied shopper shared: “I had wanted this dress for ages so finally ordered it. It’s really lovely and hangs beautifully. I did have to size up from a recent dress I bought in m and s for some reason. Can’t wait to wear it in the summer!”
Another who claimed the dress would be ‘great for summer’ penned: “Love this dress, perfect to dress up or swim. Really comfy and great colour. Will be a great choice for summer, with flip flops or trainers for a relaxed look. Denim jacket goes great with it if we don’t get the sun!”
And a fourth that left a five-star review expressed: “Absolutely love this dress, the colour and cut are both so flattering. I waited ages, checking daily for it to come back into stock before snatching myself one. More colours would be great M&S!”
On Marks and Spencer’s website, the description reads: “This linen-rich dress is a versatile option for warmer days. It’s cut in a regular fit to a breezy midaxi length and flattering swing shape. The scoop neck features comfortable straps, enhancing the feminine look. M&S Collection: easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that combine classic and contemporary styles.”
While the majority of shoppers adored the dress, there were a few customers who found it wasn’t quite what they were expecting. One shopper wrote: “Don’t bother with this dress if you have boobs, no stretch and it is way too small, doesn’t sit like it does in the model either, just drapes from the bust which looks awful.”
And a second commented: “Nice colour and material but very odd fit. The waist is too high so almost an empire line, not a flattering shape as it cuts you off in the wrong place. As others have said, gapes under the arms.”
If you’re on the hunt for a chic linen dress to wear in the summer sunshine but prefer something on the shorter side, then H&M has a few options that shoppers are bound to adore. Their linen-blend shirt dress is up for grabs at just £27.99 and comes in three stylish colours: blue striped, plain blue, and light beige.
The product description on the H&M website reads: “Knee-length dress in an airy linen and cotton weave. Collar, buttons down the front and a detachable tie belt at the waist. Yoke with a box pleat at the back, gently dropped shoulders and long sleeves with buttoned cuffs. Rounded hem. Unlined.”
