Mark Labbett, 53, met Robbie Williams, 45, and Ayda Field, 40, at the ITV summer party this month and couldn’t resist grabbing a photo opportunity with the X Factor judges. The Chase star shared the snap on Twitter in view of his 113,000 followers at the time, which showed him with his arms wrapped around the singer and his co-star Anne Hegerty, 61, while Ayda smiled for the camera next to her husband. He captioned the picture: “New X Factor judging line-up surprises many #highiq.” In spite of the star-studded photo, one fan was distracted by Mark’s statuesque frame in the shot.

They cheekily wrote back: “Damn how tall are you?!”

Mark spotted the Twitter user’s comment and addressed Robbie’s height for a comparison.

He replied in reference to his measurements: “6’6 Robbie is 6’1 but crouching a bit.”

Meanwhile other fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts about Mark’s suggestion about the X Factor judging panel.

One wrote: “Wow, hope this is true!!!! Seeing more of my favourite chasers will improve my Saturday nights.”

Another jokingly added: “@SimonCowell looks a bit different!”

“I can only imagine yours and @anne_hegerty’s critiques,” a third fan commented.

A fourth replied: “I might start watching it now! #DreamTeam.”

Elsewhere, The Chase favourite revealed he may be interested in pursuing a new role.

The quizzer made the claim after responding to a tweet from The Chase which read: “Although #schoolsoutforsummer, that doesn’t mean that your children shouldn’t be learning.

“Get them to watch @ITV and @WeAreSTV now so they can learn some great facts on #TheChase.”

Mark wrote back: “If you really want to improve your children’s knowledge why not let me do a programme or two on how to improve their gk?”(sic)

In a follow-up post, he said: “General knowledge, though he knew him when he was only a Captain.”

Many fans seemed to love Mark’s idea, with one replying: “I would love that as an adult. Love when the chasers expand on answers to questions.”

Another wrote: “Never mind the kids… I would watch that show. I learn so much from just watching the chase. I love @MarkLabbett.”

A third added: “Great idea.”

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV from 5pm.
