Man Utd team news: Predicted 4-2-3-1 line up vs Leicester – Eight injuries, Pogba latest

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is faced with a serious selection headache as injuries take their toll on his Red Devils squad.

United could be without eight players against Leicester this weekend due to injury and illness, hampering their chances of making a fast start after the international break.

High on the list of fitness concerns is summer signing Aaron Wan-Bisska, with the right-back forced to withdraw from the England squad due to a back problem.

Wan-Bissaka has been one of United’s better performers so far this season and it remains to be seen if the 21-year-old will be risked as Solskjaer hunts just his second win of the campaign.

Paul Pogba is also doubtful after withdrawing from the France squad with an ankle problem while Jesse Lingered was sent home from international duty due to illness.

Meanwhile, Luke Shaw is struggling with a hamstring issue and Anthony Martial is still working his way back to full fitness after a knock against Crystal Palace last month.

Diogo Dalot has not featured since undergoing hip surgery in the summer and Eric Bailly damaged his knee ligaments before the start of the campaign so neither are likely to feature against the Foxes.

Finally, Timothy Fosu-Mensah is still sidelined with a knee injury but is way down the pecking order at Old Trafford in any case.

So many injuries mean Ashley Young will likely be called into the back four, deputising for Shaw at left-back while Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire line up centrally.

Scott McTominay will anchor the midfield while Nemanja Matic could be called up if Pogba is not passed fit.

Daniel James has been United’s most potent threat this season and will start out wide, although the Welshman may have to switch to the right wing if Martial is selected on the left.

Juan Mata is likely to be preferred to Andreas Pereira in the No 10 role while Marcus Rashford will get the nod ahead of Mason Greenwood following Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Inter Milan.

Manchester United predicted line-up vs Leicester City – Premier League

(4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka; Lindelof, Maguire, Young; McTominay, Pogba; James, Mata, Martial; Rashford
