Man Utd 'set to hire second new coach' as Ten Hag's overhaul takes shape

Manchester United are reportedly set to appoint Go Ahead Eagles manager Rene Hake to their coaching staff. In the same week that it was confirmed Ruud van Nistelrooy would return to Old Trafford to work alongside Erik ten Hag, the 52-year-old Hake is set to join his two compatriots.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United are confident of pushing through a deal and have a contract prepared for the Eredivisie boss.

Hake currently has one year left on is deal with the Eagles, who were ninth in Holland’s top flight last season.

That led to the Deventer-based club qualifying for Europe for only the third time in their history. The club took on Utrecht in a Europa Conference Play-off last month, winning through in extra time.

Hake has more than two decades of coaching experience, although all of his work thus far has been within his homeland. And Hake has previously been compared to Ten Hag, amid his preference for compact, defensive formations.
