Manchester United eased to victory over the Premier League’s bottom side Norwich. A Marcus Rashford double was followed by Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood finishes and kept some pressure on Champions League spots.
United overcame another potential banana skin to pick up their first win of 2020 – with a 4-0 thrashing of Norwich.
Rashford opened the scoring just before the half four mark and doubled the lead from the spot seven minutes into the second half.
Martial and sub Greenwood added to the rout with Norwich looking powerless to avoid the drop.
It was a positive display for United with Rashford, Juan Mata and Brandon Williams the key performers.

Sharp low save to deny Cantwell on stroke of half time and nothing to do before or after

Some decent forward movements down right flank and gave Cantwell little change
CB – Lindelof 6
Little to do with just one striker to mark but made no mistakes and looked comfortable

Decent interception to deny Idah first half and way too strong for flimsy Canaries attack

Some mistakes and missed tap in to make it four but won penalty with driving run
DM – Fred 6
Busy display shovelling in the middle but in truth there was little to outmuscle
DM – Matic 6
Powerful and aggressive again but will not have many easier afternoons

Delicate chip to assist for United opener, even better for third. Faded slightly as match wore on

Not ideally suited to No 10 role and struggled to impose himself on proceedings
LW – Rashford 9
Confident display from the striker, brilliant trickery in box early to get past Byram, took goal and penalty well. Subbed.

Subdued at times and delayed over chance late in first half but decent header for third.
LW – James – 6
Busy when he came on for Rashford but limited time to impose
ST – Greenwood – 7
Accurate shot to add gloss to United effort after replacing Pereira
Gomes – 6
Came on in the 80th with little time to make an impact
