Man Utd make Paul Pogba plan to KEEP star despite Real Madrid transfer tease

Paul Pogba set social media ablaze over the weekend as he admitted that he was considering a move away from Old Trafford.

The Frenchman joined Manchester United in 2016, signing for a then-world record fee of £89million from Juventus.

It was his second spell at the club, having spent three years at United as an academy prospect.

And he could be on his way back out of Manchester this summer, after he made some intriguing comments while on a promotional tour of Asia.

“There is a lot of thinking [going on],” he said.

“I have been three years in Manchester and have been doing great – some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody, like everywhere else.

“After this season and everything that happened, with my season being my best season, it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to keep the Frenchman.

Solskjaer is currently conducting a mass overhaul of his United playing squad, favouring to sign youth players rather than expensive superstars as the club take a different approach from recent years.

And according to the report, United will look to make Pogba the joint-highest earner at the club with a huge £500,000-per-week new contract.

Currently, Alexis Sanchez is the highest-paid player in the Premier League, pocketing an incredible pay-packet of the same sum, and apparently United will have to match that contract in order to keep Pogba.

Real Madrid have reportedly made a bid of £90m for Pogba, but United are demanding a much higher transfer fee.

According to reports, United will refuse any offers below £150m for the star, meaning a move to Madrid could be unlikely due to their huge transfer outlay already this summer.

Zinedine Zidane, who is a big fan of Pogba, has already forked out close to £275m on Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo.

If Madrid are unable to pay the fee demanded by United, it is possible that Juventus could make a move for Pogba, with the midfielder apparently keen on a return to his old club.
