Manchester United have reportedly held discussions to sign Ederson for £51million as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his squad with one more signing before the summer transfer window closes.
The Red Devils have been locked in talks with PSG over a potential deal for Manuel Ugarte. However, the two parties are yet to find an agreement on a fee, with the Ligue 1 champions holding out for £40m.
It is reported United could decide to move on from Ugarte if they cannot strike a deal with PSG and pursue Ederson, who currently plays for Serie A outfit Atalanta.
According to AS, United are one of several clubs who have enquired about the Brazilian and have been in ‘constant talks’ with his club.
Atalanta are reluctant to let the 25-year-old leave, however, and have slapped a £51m (€60m) asking price above his head to ward off potential suitors.
It is also stated in the report that United will only step up their efforts to sign Ederson if their ‘operation’ for Ugarte ends without success.
