The Red Devils could only manage a 1-1 draw with already relegated Huddersfield.
Manchester United took the lead early through Scott McTominay but were unable to build on their dominance and in the end could have even lost the game.
Isaac Mbenza levelled for Huddersfield on the hour and in truth Solskjaer’s side didn’t create much in chances to win the game.
And that led to some fans suggesting the Norwegian should be axed ahead of the summer transfer window.
One tweeted: “There’s literally zero reasons not to sack Solskjaer.”
Another added: “Just when you think United will not stoop lower. Really need to take page out Madrid’s book and sack Solskjaer like they did with Solari.”
“We need to sack Solskjaer before any more long term damage is done to the club. The man has no ambition, no backbone when it comes to getting his way with the board, and is out of his depth. Conte in or Jose return needed imo,” a third explained.
One more exclaimed: “Sack Solskjaer & go all out for Pochettino before this gets even more embarrassing. He should never have got the job in the first place. The clubs finished.”
And Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp thinks it is a big summer for United and Solskjaer.
He explained: “At times that was shambolic.
“My fear is that if next season doesn’t start well, Ole will soon be under a lot of pressure.”
United finish their campaign at home to Cardiff next Sunday and face a big summer as Solskjaer looks to overhaul his squad.
Gary Neville also laid into United for their abject display.
He said: “There’s nothing I like about this United team at all, it’s just awful. Look at them?
“They’re the most despondent group of people.
“Luke Shaw doesn’t know whether to go with his left or his right.”
