Man Utd could be dealt second blow by Bayern Munich as Casemiro plan put in place

Manchester United could be dealt a summer transfer window blow by Bayern Munich, just 12 months on since the Bundesliga giants signed Red Devils’ target Harry Kane. Bayern are keen to continue shopping in the Premier League market, having found success with goal-machine Kane last year – something which could hamper United’s summer business.

It’s promising to be a busy window of incomings and outgoings at United. With Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS Group having taken over the football operations for the 20-time English champions, the United bigwigs aren’t expected to show any mercy with their decision-making this summer. One man who is said to be at risk of leaving the club is Casemiro.

The Brazil international looked out of his depth during United’s recent hammering away to Crystal Palace, with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher urging Casemiro to leave United at the soonest possible opportunity. While talk about his departure has picked up in the aftermath, Casemiro’s exit could hinge on whether United can source a suitable replacement.

Amadou Onana is believed to be one of the names on Ratcliffe’s wishlist, with the British billionaire and his team of transfer gurus impressed by the Everton midfielder’s ability. As per The Daily Mirror, Onana is deemed a credible Casemiro replacement, but their hopes of signing the Belgian star could be stunted by familiar foes Bayern.

The record German champions are also believed to be interested in the maestro, as they plan a summer rebuild to their midfield. As such, the Champions League semi-finalists are now hoping to spoil United’s transfer party by luring Onana to the Allianz Arena.

Whoever is successful in landing the 22-year-old is likely to have to stump up a hefty fee though, with Everton set to stand firm on their valuation. It’s claimed the Toffees won’t entertain offers under £50million, which could even rise if Bayern and United find themselves in a transfer tug-of-war.

However, Onana isn’t the only Premier League player on Bayern’s radar. Alongside him is Crystal Palace sensation Adam Wharton, who dazzled for the Eagles in last week’s win over Erik ten Hag’s side. And despite having only put pen to paper on a move to Selhurst Park in January, the 20-year-old is attracting attention from Europe’s biggest names, with Bayern just one of several interested parties.
