A DRIVER who spent a whopping $50,000 on a car upgrade has revealed it was a ‘waste’ after finding his new vehicle was missing basic features.
The man was shocked to find that his 20-year-old Honda had several features he had taken for granted compared to his brand new 2025 model.

In a TikTok video, Rich Pinto (@rpinto1124) went over several surprising features that his 2005 Honda CR-V has that the 2025 model does not.
Some could be considered luxuries, though by now they are thought to be staples while another feature is a true necessity that caused the most shock for Rich and his viewers.
The video has already garnered over 2.8 million views and nearly 320,000 likes on the social media platform.
The TikToker who did not hide his feelings about the so-called upgrade captioned the video, “Wasted 50k…”.
In the clip, Rich detailed all the features his 2005 Honda has that his 2025 doesn’t, including a key safety feature.
While the 2025 Honda not having a sunroof like the older model or a holder for sunglasses was a disappointment, it was the fact there was no spare tire that was really shocking.
On the rear of the 2005 Honda, a spare tire can be found on the back door – but even rooting around the inside of the 2025 model, no spare could be found.
Rich lifted up the base of the trunk to show viewers how there was an air pump but no tire – something other drivers called “diabolical” as the TikToker called it a “necessity” on all vehicles.
Viewers sounded off in the comments to the video, saying they miss the added features, especially considering the drastic price difference.
“Every car above 30k should have a sunglasses holder,” one user commented.
“No spare tire?! Diabolical,” a third said.
One social media user said they miss when cars were built with so many extra features and wish they could go back.
“2003 Honda CRV was my first car and still miss it everyday,” another wrote.
Another driver commented that several auto manufacturers are disappearing these added features — it’s not just Honda.

“The sunglasses holder is literally disappearing from cars,” they wrote.
Rich also showed viewers that his older Honda even came with a massive folding table, which drivers were begging the car company to bring back.
“Folding table makes it worth instantly more than the 2025,” wrote one user.
“I WAS WAITING FOR THE CRV TABLE,” echoed another.
There are top features that both models have, such as cruise control and heated seating, but adaptive cruise control is unavailable for the older vehicle.

Meanwhile, both models also offer folding rear seats and ample cargo space.
But, though drivers are reeling at the loss of the CR-V’s standard sunroof, that feature is actually available in other styles of the Civic.
The Civic also offers navigation and satellite radio are which are unavailable for the CR-V.
Drivers opt for Hondas because of their reputation for being a reliable vehicle with an emphasis on affordability and safety.
However, with the ever-evolving auto industry, many drivers are concerned about price hikes and sometimes, an upgrade is not worth the cost.
