A 70-year-old man was found dead in a sauna at a Staten Island LA Fitness gym early Thursday, police said.
Police were called to the popular chain’s gym on Richmond Ave. near Gurley Ave. in Eltingville about 5 a.m. after the man was found dead in the sauna. The gym opens at 5 a.m.
The man’s name has not been released.
Managers closed the gym for the day at 5:30 a.m., a special announcement on the branch’s website shows.
An autopsy has been slated to determine how the man died.
