Man, 51, stabbed to death in Bronx street fight, suspect arrested

A 51-year-old man was stabbed to death during a fight on a Bronx street, police said Sunday.

Juan Boria was knifed in the abdomen during the clash on E. 149th St. and Third Ave. in Melrose about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Medics rushed him to Lincoln Hospital but he couldn’t be saved.

Early Sunday, police charged Robert Brant, 52, of East New York, Brooklyn, with Boria’s killing. An NYPD spokesman couldn’t say what the two men fought over.

Brant is charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession. Police sources said he had nine past arrests for charges including drug possession, weapon possession and robbery.

Two months ago, a 33-year-old man was stabbed to death on a No. 2 train at the E. 149th St.-Third Ave. subway station.

On Aug. 24, Nigel Dumas, who had been released from prison months earlier for his role in a beating death in New Jersey, was stabbed with his own knife during a fight with another straphanger.
