A 46-year-old man was stabbed to death in an Upper West Side apartment Friday morning, police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call found the victim suffering two stab wounds in the upper body at a W. 96th St. apartment building near Columbus Ave. at 10:20 a.m.
Medics rushed him to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he died at 11:14 a.m.
Police are seeking four to five men seen fleeing the scene in a U-Haul vehicle.
The victim is a father of three whose mother died last month, according to a cousin, who said this latest tragedy has left his family reeling.
“He might not have been a saint but he was a good person. He didn’t deserve what happened to him, let’s just say that,” the 51-year-old cousin, who gave his name as John, told a Daily News reporter at the scene. “I’m just still trying to find out more information and I have to check on my moms because she took it pretty hard.”
“He’s a father, I believe, I wanna say three kids. Like I said, he wasn’t a saint, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. But he didn’t deserve what happened to him.”
