Make the 'perfect' seaside-inspired meal in the air fryer in 15 minutes

While traditional fish and chips from your local chippy might be delicious, it can become rather costly to treat yourself to a weekly chippy tea – and if you look for recipes to make your own you can be spending the next two hours or so cooking.

But now, chef Nathan Anthony has revealed how you can make a delicious ‘fakeaway’ fish and chips with your air fryer.

Nathan shared the recipe, among several other simple lunches and dinners, in his recipe book Bored of Lunch: Healthy Air Fryer: 30 Minute Meals.

He writes that those making this won’t be able to believe just how tasty the fish is after being cooked in the air fryer.

Method

Pat dry the fish with kitchen paper and salt it generously. This will help stop it from falling apart during cooking. Place the flour, egg and crushed crisps into three separate bowls.

Dunk the fillets first in the flour, then into the beaten egg, then finally the crisp crumb.

Cook the coated fish in the air fryer for 12–14 minutes at 200°C – frozen chips should take the same length of time, so add them all together

Heat the peas in the microwave, then serve with the fish, chips, tartare sauce and lemon wedge.
