As the weather cools, it becomes the perfect time to enjoy a warm, spiced bake straight from the oven, along with a nice cup of tea.
And these air fyrer cinnamon buns, with their soft dough and sugary, spiced filling, fit perfectly into this craving for cosy indulgence.
This recipe is as simple as it gets, taking just 18 minutes to prepare from start to finish, and you won’t even need an oven.
You can store leftover air-fried cinnamon rolls in the fridge, covered, for up to three days, or you can freeze them in an airtight container and keep them for up to two months.
To reheat, simply heat them in the microwave for 20 seconds or pop them back into the air fryer for two to three minutes to warm them up, according to the recipe’s author, thebigmansworld.com.
Air fryer cinnamon bun recipe
Ingredients
For the buns
220g self-raising flour
240g vanilla yogurt
For the filling
30g butter
50g brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
For the cream cheese frosting
56g cream cheese, softened to room temperature
30g butter, measured in its softened state
45g powdered sugar, very well sifted to avoid clumps in the rolls.
Method
To begin, combine the flour and vanilla yoghurt, stirring until a thick dough forms. Transfer it to a surface dusted with flour and knead it a few times until it’s smooth and even. Then, roll the dough into a large rectangle.
In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth. Spread this mixture across the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Starting at one long edge, roll the dough up tightly into a log. Use a sharp knife to cut the log into eight to nine equal portions.
Arrange the rolls in the air fryer basket and cook for seven to eight minutes, or until they are golden and fully cooked through. Afterward, remove them from the basket and let them cool on a plate. Once they’ve cooled enough, drizzle frosting on top and enjoy.
