Magaluf horror as British tourist seriously injured in brawl with police hunting attacker

Police in Magaluf are investigating a brutal attack on a 20-year-old British tourist.

A manhunt has been launched in a bid to track down the attacker, after the horror brawl unravelled early Wednesday morning in the party hotspot of Punta Ballena.

The victim, who was left unconscious on the ground after being punched in the head, was rushed to Son Espases hospital. He is understood to have suffered two serious head injuries and possible internal bleeding.

The attack took place around 5.30am in front of a well-known nar on the notorious strip.

Two large groups of British tourists started a riot in the middle of the street and, according to witnesses, one of the young people severely punched another in the temple.

The victim collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness, before the aggressor fled.

Officers from the Civil Guard and the Calvià Local Police quickly swarmed the scene after being alerted.

The injured Brit regained consciousness and refused to be treated by the paramedics who arrived by ambulance.

Given the state of aggressiveness that he presented, they had to give the young man a tranquiliser, says Spanish newspaper Ultimahora.es.

The man being sought in connection with the attack is described as blond and at least 6ft tall.
