LUXURY high-performance tuning company Brabus has branched out… into the creation of private islands.

The German aftermarket modifier, famous for its association with Mercedes, as well as Maybach and Smart, is best known for the Brabus G-Wagon and the recently unveiled Brabus Big Boy motorhome.

But now they’re reaching even more bold and ambitious new heights by modifying an entire island – with a collection of luxury properties to be built in Abu Dhabi.

Aptly named Brabus Island, the 0.4 square mile piece of land will feature four high-rise towers with 350 apartments, plus around 100 villas.

The project will be located on the plush Al Seef seafront district in collaboration with Abu Dhabi-based developer Reportage Properties, with each home on the island to feature highly customisable interior – as is typical with Brabus.

Indeed, there will be three aesthetics that buyers can choose from; Black and Bold, White Bliss or Grey Haven.

Each apparently is inspired by Brabus’ “signature look and feel.”

Brabus CEO, Constantin Buschmann, said: “For nearly five decades, Brabus has built products that move people – emotionally, viscerally, physically.

“But this is different. Now, for the first time, we’re not just designing vehicles for a lifestyle – we’re designing the lifestyle itself.

“Brabus Island is an exciting and very significant design opportunity, and Abu Dhabi is exactly the right place for it.”

The Brabus website states the minimum cost of one of the apartments will be €700,000, which is around £600,000, while the most expensive will run up to €6.5 million, or around £5.5 million.

Construction on the island is set to begin this summer and has been pencilled in for completion by early 2028.

This is reportedly when residents will begin to move into their new luxury apartments.

Brabus, which has existed since 1977, has its headquarters in Bottrop, Germany.

As well as Mercedes, they have worked with other luxury brands like Porsche and Rolls-Royce in the past.

They eve have lines for boats, fashion, and collaborations.

This comes as Mercedes recently revealed the ultimate in luxury travel with a new MPV that’s been likened to a “private lounge”.

The new-look V-Class concept isn’t just an ordinary-looking van with extra bells and whistles, it’s potentially the king of all people carriers.

The German giants, who showcased the VIP shuttle at the Shanghai Motor Show, claim they have “set a benchmark” for the future of premium driving.

The new V-Class line-up promises a range of practical family vehicles that scale all the way up to “luxurious limousines” – with the first model set to arrive in 2026.

While the exterior might resemble a slightly more futuristic-looking van, Mercedes says it “marks the next step” in their design language, with aerodynamics playing a significant role in its appearance.
