She shared a video of the injury as she opened up to fans about the real reason behind her “shiner”.
Andrea admitted she fainted after getting out of bed too quickly which caused the injury.
Writing on Instagram, the popular TV star said: “Yup. I’ve got a shiner.
“I just woke up yesterday morning and got out of bed too fast, I guess before I’d properly woken up.
“By the time I’d walked the few steps to the bathroom I thought: ‘I don’t feel too good..’ and fainted. I landed on my face.
“Literally face planted onto the bathroom floor.
“I have been checked out at A&E and thankfully my cheekbone isn’t broken, and I won’t lose any teeth. I was really lucky.
“Lesson learned. Take a moment. I’m not quite ‘better’ yet.”
Andrea appeared to be referencing another hospital dash she had faced last December.
After developing flu-like symptoms, the TV host was left shocked when doctors told her she was suffering from a number of different conditions.
The former GMTV weather girl had acute kidney injury and sepsis, as well as severe pneumonia – having lost ‘80% capacity’ in one lung.
Following the news of her latest hospital dash, Andrea’s Instagram followers raced to share their support for the star.
One person penned: “Please be careful. Hope you’re ok.”
As another shared: “Oh dear…. You’re not having the best of luck lately. Get well soon!!!”

Andrea’s injury comes after Lorraine Kelly sparked concern after sporting a similar injury and puffy face during her morning TV rounds earlier today.
After stints on her own show Lorraine, followed by an appearance on This Morning, speculation began to mount about her visible black eye.
By the time Lorraine appeared as a guest on ITV1’s Loose Women at 1pm, she angrily hit out at claims she’d had filler injected into her face.
Lorraine explained to viewers that her painful appearance is the result of an injury, exclaiming: “Someone asked if I’d had fillers. No!
“It’s not an allergy and it’s not fillers!”
Lorraine told viewers that she had tripped over and face-planted “a massive rhino” in an unfortunate accident at home.
She said: “Yesterday, like women, you try to do too many things at one time and we try to do it really fast.
“I had a massive bag of washing, like a huge big washing basket, and couldn’t see.
“I was going from the kitchen to the living room and there’s a wee step and my slippers are too big also.
“And I fell over and I fell onto a rhino. As you do.
“It’s a big, giant wooden rhino and I battered my face on it.”
