A Long Island school social worker accused of masturbating in front of a woman and her 6-year-old daughter earlier this week has been arrested, Suffolk County Police said.
Jacob Levy, 27, of Nesconset, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly touching himself in front of the two victims while “naked from the waist down,” according to police.
Levy, who works for the East Meadow School District, was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip early Thursday afternoon and pleaded not guilty to the accusations, News 12 Long Island reported.
The incident unfolded around 3 p.m. on Monday. Suffolk police said Levy was driving a sky blue 2020 Honda Civic heading westbound on Route 347 when he pulled next to a vehicle at the intersection of Gibbs Pond Road and allegedly started masturbating in front of the driver and her young daughter, seated next to her in the passenger seat.
The woman “exchanged words” with Levy and then took down his license plate number. After he fled the scene in his car, the woman called police to report the incident.
Levy was arrested Wednesday just before 5 p.m. and charged with first-degree public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.
On Thursday, the East Meadow School District confirmed to News 12 that Levy “began his employment as a social worker at W. T Clarke High School” two years ago.
“The employee has immediately been reassigned to home pending further investigation,” the district added.
Police are urging anyone with information on this incident or who believes they may be a victim of Levy to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8451.
