L.I. man pleads guilty in drive-by shooting outside Lee Zeldin’s house

A Long Island man has pleaded guilty to attempted murder and related crimes in a drive-by shooting outside the home of former U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin nearly two years ago, officials said Thursday.

Noah Green, 20, of Shirley, admitted to firing his gun several times at three members of a rival gang while driving a stolen 2022 Honda CRV on Oct. 9, 2022.

Two teenagers were shot in the chest. They were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment but survived.

The shooting, which took place in broad daylight, unfolded in front of the residence of the former congressman and then-Republican gubernatorial candidate — while his twin 16-year-old daughters were inside doing their homework.

“It was very scary and we didn’t know if they were coming after us,” one of the twins, Mikayla, told reporters days after the incident. “And to have that on our lawn, it’s like right in front of our house.”

After the incident, Green took to social media to boast about the shooting, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Green was one of 18 defendants indicted in December 2022 following an investigation into violence committed by a criminal street organization named “No Fake Love.”

On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted murder, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of conspiracy.

“Working with Suffolk County Police detectives and investigators from my office, our prosecutors prioritize cases like this one,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said in a statement. “As a result, this case was swiftly solved, and the shooter was held accountable, along with the other gang members involved in a variety of dangerous crimes.”

Green will be back in court on Oct. 15, when he is expected to be sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision.

His guilty plea “should send the message that we will not tolerate gang violence in Suffolk County,” Tierney said.
