A KROGER shopper left the store dissatisfied after seeing the state of the checkout area.
The customer left to shop at a competing chain instead.

A shopper in Canton, Michigan complained on X that her local Kroger store was packed with customers waiting in line.
There was no self-checkout or customer service available.
“No self service lines open at 8am,” the customer wrote.
“11 people in a single line. Any other time the Customer Service person would kick in.”
Instead of waiting in the long line, the customer chose to leave the store, effectively boycotting the understaffed location.
“Nope,” she said.
“Walked out and went across the street to Meijer…”
The major supermarket retailer quickly responded through its official account.
“Hello Becky!” Kroger said on X.
“Thank you for reaching out and we’re very sorry to hear about your store experience. This is not the experience we want for our customers to have.
“Kindly DM us and provide the exact store address with zip code so we can escalate this. Thank you.”
LONG LINES
As brick-and-mortar retail chains struggle to keep stores staffed amid waves of closures, customers have become increasingly frustrated with shorthanded stores.
A Dollar Tree customer begged the store to open up a self checkout, as the store was not equipped with enough employees to handle the rush.
“Please give us self checkout,” the customer wrote on X.
“Ain’t no way I should be deep in this line for a singular roll of toilet paper towel.”
The customer shared a photo of a crowded aisle at Dollar Tree, stretching far beyond the checkout area.
Meanwhile, a Dollar General shopper in Texas complained that their local store was understaffed and untidy.
“Just informing you that your store in Cleburne, TX off hwy 4 needs improvements,” the user wrote.
“There are always items that need to be stocked in the aisle and no one ever at the register.”
The customer complained that even with a single cashier working the till, that employee still had to leave shoppers waiting to help another customer in the store.
