Kevin Spacey is taking umbrage to a U.K. docuseries based on the sexual abuse allegations he has faced in recent years.
The Oscar, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning actor — who was found not guilty on all nine sexual assault charges in London court last July — has addressed “Spacey Unmasked,” set to air on Britain’s Channel 4 on May 6 and 7.
Spacey took to social media on Thursday to claim he had not been given enough time to respond to the allegations made in the series, and that the network did not provide him with “sufficient details to investigate these matters.”

“Channel 4 has refused [my request] on the basis that they feel that asking for a response in seven days to new, anonymized and non-specific allegations is a ‘fair opportunity’ for me to refute any allegations made against me,’” Spacey wrote.
The 64-year-old New Jersey native vowed that he “will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ … in their desperate attempt for ratings,” and said he would be responding to the documentary as it airs.
Channel 4 disputed his claim in a statement to Variety, saying, “Kevin Spacey has been given sufficient opportunity to respond.”
Commissioned by Channel 4 in 2022, the two-part “Spacey Unmasked” features archival footage and never-before-seen interviews, Variety reported last week.
The documentary, helmed by “Who Is Ghislaine Maxwell?” producer Katherine Haywood, is described as “a forensic look at a man who was once one of the most admired and respected actors in the world” — an examination of early his beginnings to “meteoric rise to stardom” and eventual “fall from grace.”
Warner Bros. Discovery secured a deal to air the project on Max and ID in the U.S., though exact release dates have not been announced.
Last year, Spacey was found not guilty of nine sexual offenses against four men in their 20s and 30s, in alleged incidents that took place between 2001 and 2013.
The former “House of Cards” star — who described himself as merely “a big flirt” during his testimony in London court — previously denied the charges, which included sexual assault, indecent assault, and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
