Keep dust out of your home 'for a month' using simple three-ingredient solution

Now that the weather is getting colder, it’s likely that you won’t want to have your windows open at home as much as you would do in the summer.

Keeping your home warm always takes priority, but this lack of ventilation can also have its problems – specifically when it comes to dust.

This restricted airflow during the chillier months means that dust is more likely to settle on your surfaces at home, and it can seem like no amount of dusting is enough to deal with it.

However, according to cleaning experts, you can make your own solution at home using just three ingredients – and it’s enough to banish pesky dust for up to one month.

To help prevent the surfaces of people’s homes from filling with dust, home cleaning platform, Homeaglow, has shared a natural and budget-friendly dusting solution designed to both clear away dust and keep it from returning.

Originally shared by the brand in a viral Instagram video, that has been watched millions of times, Homeaglow’s video explains the dust-busting cleaning solution without going out to the store and having to buy specialised products.

Fans have flocked to the comments saying the trick is ‘so effective’ at keeping dust at bay.

All you need to make this ‘magic’ cleaner is 60ml of distilled white vinegar, one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, and a few drops of dish soap.

If you want, you can add a few drops of essential oils too, in order to make the solution smell like your favourite scent.

First, take an empty spray bottle and check that it is clean. Add 1.5 cups of water, then add in the vinegar, the oil and the dish soap.

Close the lid and shake well to mix the solution, then spray it sparingly onto a microfiber cloth.

Wipe the cloth across surfaces to collect dust and spread the solution. You may need another clean dry cloth to wipe off any excess and remove any streaks.

According to the experts, this mixture helps to fight off dust and prevents it from settling again for ‘up to one month’.
