A renowned plastic surgeon has issued a damning warning to Katie Price branding her 16th boob job “dangerous”. Dr Mark Solomos, who is known for Channel 4’s 10 Years Younger and ITV’s Price of Perfection, shared the horrific consequences that could result from Katie’s repeated breast augmentations.
It comes after the former glamour model, 45, recently revealed she planned to reduce her 2120 CC implants during her podcast.
Speaking to the Mail Online, Dr Solomos warned of the potential for infections, torn skin, unusual sagging and even the blood supply to her breasts being disturbed if she goes further with surgery.
“In my opinion Katie has an addiction to cosmetic and plastic surgery and this could be dangerous.
“Her 16th breast augmentation is out of proportion to her body and looks unnatural.
“Obviously this is the look she’s going for and her plastic surgery is synonymous with her brand and publicity.”
However, he said: ‘The main issue with repeated breast surgeries and especially going so big is the stretching of the breast soft tissue envelope that surrounds and covers the implant’.
“In these situations one can have rippling, exposed implants, ptosis [unusual sagging] sensation issues, damage to the muscle if it’s being used to cover the implant.
“Any further surgery increases chances of infection of the implant, and the blood supply to the breast is being disturbed.”
Dr Solomos said that if he were Katie’s doctor he would refuse to increase her implant size.
“I would probably agree to operate to make her smaller and that would likely require a lifting procedure, but that is only if she promised that would be the end of the ops,” he continued.
“For her frame a size no bigger than a D-DD would be ideal.”
He added: “There may be a reason she’s having surgery abroad, as perhaps surgeons there are not challenging the patients and are looking at the short term financial gain ignoring the long term implications for the patients.”
Mum-of-five Katie shared her plans for smaller breasts on The Katie Price Show podcast.
She said: “I’ve decided I’m going to have my boobs made smaller because they do make me look bigger, yes I’ve decided to go smaller with my boobs.
“I have messaged the surgeon already, and to be honest I’ve been going to the gym, and yeah I’ve decided.”
During the time of her last breast augmentation, a source told The Sun that she was getting 2120 CC implants.
Katie had her first boob job in 1998 while she was modelling, boosting her 32B cup breasts to a 32C.
According to the NHS, some health risks of a breast augmentation include:
- Thick, obvious scarring
- The breast feeling hard because scar tissue has shrunk around the implant (capsular contracture)
- A ruptured implant – this may cause small tender lumps (siliconomas), which are only noticeable on breast scans; the implant will need to be removed
- Creases or folds in the implant
- The implant rotating within the breast, resulting in an abnormal shape
- Rippling of the implant – this happens when the implant is only covered by a thin layer of tissue which sticks to the surface of the implant, and is very difficult to treat
- Nerve problems in the nipples – they may become more sensitive, less sensitive, or completely numb; this can be temporary or permanent
- When breastfeeding, producing slightly less breast milk than you would without implants.
There is also the chance of bleeding and clots, infection and an allergic reaction.
