Rep. Katie Hill’s dad attacked her estranged husband as a “wicked man,”– and called for him to be punished to the “maximum extent” of the law for allegedly leaking scandalous snaps of her, according to a report.
The California congresswoman on Sunday announced her resignation and blamed her “abusive” husband, Kenny Heslep, for nude pics that surfaced amid reports she had relationships during her marriage with a male congressional aide and a female campaign staffer.
“I have remained silent and watched as Katie and our entire family has had to endure the spectacle created when her estranged husband, sent ‘revenge porn’ to RedState and/or some other British tabloid,” her father Michael Hill told ABC News. “The fact that Kenny Heslep would do such a thing is unfathomable and appalling, especially considering that they were together since Katie was in high school and this is a woman that he purportedly loved and cared about.”
Her father said on Tuesday that Heslep retaliated against his daughter after the couple filed for divorce in July.
“Let’s not pretend that her resigning is anything other than the direct result of the actions of a wicked man whose sole purpose in life, after he was dumped, was to hurt my little girl,” her dad told ABC News. “Evil has many faces and this is one of them.”
He has called for his son-in-law to be prosecuted for the scandal that led to his lawmaker daughter’s resignation.
“For committing this crime, Kenny deserves to be punished to the maximum extent allowable by law,” Michael Hill said. “As a father, I wish worse for him.”
Hill’s resignation came after the House Ethics Committee announced a probe into claims that she had an affair with her legislative director, Graham Kelly.
The openly bisexual lawmaker denied the alleged affair with the aide — but fessed up to reports she was involved in a “throuple” relationship with a younger female staffer and her estranged husband.
Heslep didn’t respond to request for comment.
