A day before Justin Timberlake’s scheduled court appearance following his DWI arrest last month, sources say the “Selfish” singer is “prepared to face whatever consequences” for his actions.
“He is hoping to learn from this experience and put it behind him,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, adding that Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, “is extremely supportive and helping him navigate everything.”
The NSYNC alum, 43, is not expected to be physically present in court Friday — the same day he’s set to perform the first of two consecutive shows in Poland as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
He is, however, expected to appear virtually, with his lawyer representing him in-person.
Timberlake was arrested on Long Island in the early hours of June 18, when he blew through a stop sign in Sag Harbor after reportedly partying at The American Hotel. He failed a field sobriety test and was arraigned later that morning on a single DWI charge.
At his first post-arrest show in Chicago, Timberlake thanked the crowd for sticking by him “through ups and downs, and lefts and rights.”
“It’s been a tough week,” Timberlake said, according to video that made the rounds online. “I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I love you right back.”
Prior to reports that Timberlake won’t appear in court on Friday, there was speculation his court date could affect his Polish shows.
Timberlake apparently feared the same as he reportedly told the arresting officer that his DWI would “ruin the tour,” only to be asked, “What tour?” According to reports that have turned into a viral meme, Timberlake replied: “The world tour.”
Though sources previously told Us Weekly that Biel, 42, was “extremely upset” in the immediate aftermath of the DWI, she was spotted singing and dancing along to her husband’s tunes at his Madison Square Garden shows in the days following his arrest.
