Jurgen Klopp has promised the city of Liverpool that he will always be there to help even after leaving Anfield. The German bid farewell in an emotional final press conference on Friday before taking charge in his last game as Reds head coach on Sunday.
Liverpool host Wolves at Anfield in what will be an opportunity for Klopp to wave goodbye to the home crowd. The 56-year-old has formed a special bond during his nine years at Liverpool.
Klopp received the Freedom of the City of Liverpool in 2022, honouring his achievements with the club. He promised the community that he will always provide help to the city when they need.
“I said it before, I got the key of the city and for some it might be rather funny,” Klopp said. “For me, it feels like responsibility. I don’t think the club will need me in the future but if the city needs me, I’m there. I want to be helpful in whatever way.”
