Former President Joe Biden has inked a deal with heavyweight talent agency Creative Artists Agency.
CAA already represents former President Barack Obama’s Higher Ground Productions interests, and represented Biden from 2017 to 2020 between his stint as Obama’s vice president and his own presidency.
During that period, Biden published the best-selling book “Promise Me, Dad” and embarked on a national speaking tour the agency said sold more than 85,000 tickets.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett said in a statement posted to Instagram. “His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
CAA didn’t mention what the 82-year-old statesman is working on next. Some Instagram users wondered if he would be hitting the road to sing with Beyonce, while another joker asked if the former president is available to perform at weddings.
Biden’s X account on Monday made no mention of his entertainment deal, but it did include a photo of the 46th president meeting with newly minted Democratic National Committee leader Ken Martin of Minnesota, who was elected Saturday.
Shortly before leaving office last month Biden told USA Today he felt good, but isn’t sure if he could’ve served a second term as president had he not withdrawn from the 2024 election in July.
“Who knows what I’m going to be when I’m 86 years old?” he said.
Financial terms of the CAA’s deal with Biden weren’t disclosed. The agency hasn’t returned a request for further comment.
