Jamie Oliver’s easy sausage pasta recipe cooks in just 15 minutes and tastes ‘delicious’

For the ultimate comfort food, Jamie Oliver’s hearty pasta dish that’s packed with flavour is hard to beat.

This sausage pasta dinner recipe is a perfect pick-me-up after a long day, and the best part is that it can be cooked from scratch in just 15 minutes.

To make this simple yet satisfying meal, boil the gnocchi pasta in one pot while cooking the other ingredients in a separate pan.

This recipe is ideal for those craving a rich, homemade meal without spending hours slaving over a hot stove.

Jamie Oliver first shared this delicious dish in his cookbook Jamie’s 15-minute Meals then also on his website, describing it as a “super easy” dinner to make.

He said: “Gnocchi is a great fridge staple just add oomph with spicy sausage sauce for a delicious dinner.”

Ingredients

700g passata

400g gnocchi

200g broccoli

125ml red wine, Jamie recommends Chianti

Four spicy sausages, at least 80 percent meat

Two teaspoons of fennel seeds

Two tablespoons of fat-free natural yoghurt

Two sprigs of rosemary

Method

Begin by squeezing the sausage meat out of the skins and placing it in a pan with the fennel seeds and rosemary leaves.

Use a wooden spoon to break the meat apart, stirring occasionally, and cook on medium heat for around five to eight minutes until the sausage meat is fully cooked through.

Next, pour the red wine into the sausage pan and let it bubble away for a few minutes until it has reduced slightly.

Meanwhile, chop up the broccoli and add it to the pan alongside the passata, cooking for around five to seven minutes until fully cooked.

Pop the gnocchi into a pot of boiling salted water and let it bubble away for two to three minutes. Once they bob up to the surface, scoop them out with a slotted spoon.

Dish up the gnocchi straight away with your sausage sauce to avoid the pasta sticking together.

Your scrumptious sausage gnocchi is now ready to be devoured. Season as you like and finish off on a nice platter or perhaps add a swirl of yoghurt on top.
