Jamie Oliver's 5-ingredient flapjack biscuits are made with items you likely already have

Teatime treats are something everyone looks forward to, especially, when they are freshly baked and still slightly warm.

Jamie Oliver’s five-ingredient flapjack biscuits will easily become the highlight of your afternoon as they are easy to make in less than half an hour.

Sharing his recipe on his official website, the chef said: “Embracing store-cupboard ingredients, these tasty little morsels are sure to go down a treat for grown-ups, big kids and little ones alike.

“The method is super-easy, the food processor does all the hard work, and the measurements are straightforward, too.

“Get your kids to help with the weighing – they’ll love it.”

Instructions

Set the oven to 180ºC/350ºF/gas mark 4. Line a deep 20cm square baking tin with parchment paper and lightly coat it with olive oil.

In a food processor, blend the butter, dried fruit and nuts, oats, and flour until the mixture pulls away from the sides.

Add the syrup and pulse until everything is thoroughly combined. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared tin. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven, cut into 16 squares, and let cool in the tin for five minutes. Use the parchment paper to lift the squares onto a wire rack, and let them cool completely.
