A pornographic deepfake depicting actor Jacob Elordi is grabbing the attention of many X users, after the “Saltburn” star’s face was superimposed onto the body of a then-17-year-old OnlyFans model.
One post involving the minor held over 3 million views on Tuesday.
The OnlyFans model whose body was used has since spoken out about the situation, reported TMZ.
The now-19-year-old, living in Brazil, claimed the torso in the footage belonged to him and called the footage creepy, adding that it had been recorded when he was a minor. He’s now asking for the video to be taken down.
Some fans pointed out that the body was clearly not Elordi’s as it didn’t have his distinctive birthmarks. Others rallied around the actor by condemning the video and those sharing it.
“Can y’all stop spreading that Jacob Elordi deepfake around y’all are disgusting,” one user wrote.
“The people sharing that video of Jacob Elordi are not any better than the ones who shared those AI photos of Taylor Swift. It’s disgusting, doesn’t matter what gender it happens to,” said another.
At least 16 separate deepfake posts depicting Elordi were found on X on Tuesday, reported NBC News. The 26-year-old movie star is just the latest victim of AI deepfakes spreading on social media.
Megan Thee Stallion faced similar issues earlier this month and X-rated images of Taylor Swift became such a significant issue online in January that the platform temporarily made her name unsearchable to protect her image and likeness.
The White House also took notice of the incident, with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre telling ABC News at the time that they’re “alarmed” by what happened to Swift and that Congress “should take legislative action.”
