This Morning fans are used to seeing Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in the safety of their studio, with their regular sofa.

But today, they got out of the usual setting as they headed to Highclere Castle — the real-life Downton Abbey setting.

The breakfast show duo dressed to the nines and hosted the Downton special outside the incredible building, as they interviewed stars of the show and got to grips with life in the high life.

However a good number of viewers weren’t too thrilled with This Morning’s episode, and made their opinions known on Twitter.

One viewer wrote: “Not everyone watches downton abbey #ThisMorning.”

Another said: “#ThisMorning All good and well if you watch #downtonabbey.”

A third jumped in to add: “Oh I might turn off , will give it 10mins , f**k all this ITV love in s**t #ThisMorning.”

While one more chimed in: “Never watched an episode in my life so this should be a fun show today #ThisMorning.”

Despite this, there were a large amount of viewers who were fans of the period drama, and were simply elated about the new setting for the show.

One explained: “Super exciting that This Morning is coming from the home of Downton Abbey #ThisMorning #DowntonAbbey #thursdaymorning.”

“Can I live in downton abbey please? #ThisMorning,” another said.

With yet another add: “Downton Abbey on This Morning – I love it xxx #DowntonAbbey #ThisMorning.”

Yesterday’s edition of This Morning also saw a change-up, as viewers witnessed Holly running off set as a lumberjack began hacking away at a log.

Elgan, the lumberjack, was asked to show off his skills by the presenters, prompting his attack on the wood.

However once he started swinging at the object many chunks of wood began flying out of it.

Once this began Holly was not too keen to stick around for the end of the event, as she tottered away in fear.

She yelled: “Oh my god, what if he lets go of it!”

Phillip called after her, saying: “Holly, come over here!”

Phillip later went on to praise Elgan, saying: “Look at the state of that, you were nearly in Shepherd’s Bush!”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
