Incredible video shows Ukraine police rescuing children and a dog under Russian fire

Dramatic footage has shown brave Ukrainian police officers rescuing children, a dog and adults whilst under Russian fire.

Anton Gerashchenko, a former advisor to Ukraine’s Internal Affairs Minister, posted footage from the National Police of Ukraine.

He said on X: “Under the attack of Russian KABs and drones, the White Angels police group rescued two children, six adults and a dog from the frontline city of Kurakhove, Donetsk region.

“The people were hiding from Russian strikes in basements, some in destroyed buildings, and barely had time to gather some belongings.

“The evacuees were handed over to volunteers who helped them find shelter in other regions of Ukraine.”

This morning, Mr Gerashchenko posted more footage, from denys_khrystov on Instagram.

He posted an update: “Volunteers evacuated a family with a child from the village of Novyi Komar, Donetsk region, to Dnipro, where they were provided shelter.

“The very next day, on November 22, the village was occupied by Russians, and the family’s house was destroyed.”

The White Angel unit is a special police unit which helps Ukrainian civilians evacuate from war zones.

According to a report by the DeepState analytical project, Ukrainian Defense Forces have ‘reclaimed control’ of Novyi Komar village.

Euromaidan Press reports that Russian advances there ‘threatened to cut key logistical roads for the Ukrainian army’.

Putin’s forces also ‘managed to occupy Blahodatne village’ and ‘make small advances in nine settlements across the Donetsk region’.

The publication added that the situation there remains tense after Russian advances were ‘stopped eight kilometers east of the city of Pokrovsk in October.

They have since said to have shifted their focus southwards, capturing the town of Vuhledar, and a number of villages nearby.

Earlier today, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 1,580 Russian personnel had been eliminated in a day.

A total 13 tanks were reportedly destroyed, as well as 22 armoured fighting vehicles.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine posted on X: “Another bad day for russian artillery. The number of destroyed or damaged artillery systems reached 21,000. This is evidence of the effective counter-battery fight of [Ukranian] Defense Forces.”
