Iconic chicken chain that’s ‘10x better than Chick-fil-A’ to open another location in weeks

A BELOVED fast food chain specializing in hand-breaded chicken and house-made sides is set to open a brand new location in just weeks.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, frequently pitted against rival chicken joint Chick-fil-A, will soon bring its iconic Nashville-style hot chicken to more fans in Pennsylvania.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, launched in a parking lot in Los Angeles, California, just eight years ago, has come a long way since then and has experienced rapid growth.

As part of Dave’s Hot Chicken expansion plans for 2025, the fast food chain is launching a new location in just weeks.

The company will officially open a new restaurant in Richland Township, Pennsylvania – roughly 20 miles from Pittsburgh – on April 18.

The grand opening will take place at 218 North West End Boulevard, per an announcement on the Dave’s Hot Chicken website.

The new chicken spot, located in the Quakertown area, will take the place of a MOD Pizza location that shuttered last spring.

Foodies can order Dave’s Hot Chicken in seven spice levels:

  • No Spice
  • Lite Mild
  • Mild
  • Medium
  • Hot
  • Extra Hot
  • Reaper

The last heat level is made with the Carolina Reaper, the world’s hottest chili pepper, which is over 300 times spicier than a jalapeño.

The Reaper level is so hot that customers must sign a waiver and release of liability, acknowledging that consuming such a high level of spice carries certain health risks, including “bodily injury, property damage, emotional distress, or even death.”

It will be managed by The Integritty Group, which also operates nearby Dave’s Hot Chicken locations on Park Avenue in Willow Grove and Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia.

The restaurant management company also has plans in the works to open another Dave’s Hot Chicken location today, March 28, on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.

MOUTH-WATERING SUCCESS

Dave’s Hot Chicken specializes in hot chicken tenders and sliders, with each juicy piece hand breaded and spiced to order.

The fast food joint is also known for its craveable sides, including kale slaw, creamy mac n’ cheese, seasoned fries, cheese fries, and loaded fries.

The chain’s tasty selections have allowed Dave’s Hot Chicken to grow to over 200 locations worldwide from its humble roots in the LA parking lot.

“The company’s nearly unheard-of growth rate is a result of the founders’ vision for this brand, the tremendous leadership team we’ve assembled, and the incredible commitment of some of the most experienced franchisees in the restaurant industry,” said Bill Phelps, Dave’s Hot Chicken’s CEO, in a 2023 news release.

Dave’s Hot Chicken saw 100% sales growth in 2023, setting a goal to open 100 new locations last year.

The company’s success spurred even more ambitious expansion plans for this year.

Dave’s Hot Chicken aims to exceed 1,000 total restaurants by the end of 2025, per a post from the company’s official LinkedIn page.

“One THOUSAND locations – yes, you read that right!” read the post.

“With franchise commitment for over 950 additional Dave’s locations, that means we’ll be coming soon to YOUR market!”

The company’s success can be attributed to its extensive fan base, with many customers praising the chain’s food.

Many have even argued that Dave’s Hot Chicken surpasses iconic fast food chain Chick-fil-A in terms of taste and quality.

“Dave’s Hot Chicken is 10x better than Chick-fil-A,” one fan wrote on X.

“Dave’s Hot Chicken >>>>> Chick-fil-A,” said another fan, as a third said that the chain “puts Chick-fil-A to shame.”

The beloved hot chicken joint recently added a first-ever program as the COO spotted “growing demand.”

Plus, a popular chicken chain that’s “better than Popeye’s” has unveiled a 2-step plan for the future and “doubles down” on cheaper prices.
