Wetherspoon is known for its affordable drinks and great pub grub but a worker has shared a secret food dish customers should order.
Macey Newberry, who works at Wetherspoon and goes under username @bigmacnew on TikTok, took to the social media platform to reveal all.
Newberry took to TikTok to share how she created her own DIY kebab at the popular pub chain. She does this by ordering a few different items on the menu.
In the video, she explained that despite the initial dish not being on the Spoons menu, you can create the takeaway by ordering these items.
Newberry said: “Since working at Spoons this has been my favourite creation so far.
“Honestly, now that I’ve eaten everything on the Wetherspoons menu as you can imagine I do get a bit bored of the food now and again, but not to worry.
“When you’re creative like me and love food, you come up with stuff like this.”
For customers wanting to recreate their own DIY kebab, all you need is chicken strips, roasted vegetables, salad and naan bread.
Newberry told customers to order a Mediterranean salad, three chicken strips, and a naan bread.
She added people can also order roasted veg if they want to get some more greens in.
Customers can ask Wetherspoon staff to order the dishes all on one plate to be able to assemble the dishes themselves.
Newberry said it was one of her favourite creations on the menu with her followers taking to her video to comment.
One person said: “Now that looks good, even with the mustard.” Another added: “I have to try this ASAP.”
A third commented: “I work in the kitchen at Spoons and love making up meals like this.”
Meanwhile, an ex-McDonald’s worker said they did similar creations at the fast food joint, they confessed: “I worked at mcds 16 years ago and they didn’t have vegetarian options then and I LOVED making my own creations with salad, sauces, bread and limited edition sides, still miss it.”
A user said: “Oufff you know how to do it.” Finally, another recommended: “They should put on the menu chicken flat bread with peppers onions and cheese would be amazing.”
