I spent £250 on an Amazon returns pallet – I couldn’t believe how much they sent me, it totted up to £1.5k

THERE is no greater satisfaction than snagging something worth more than what you paid for.

Businesses like Amazon have tapped into this appeal by offering returns pallets.

These are large crates filled with returned, damaged, or overstocked items, sold in bulk at a fraction of their original value.

The online retailer uses these pallets as a way to offload items that customers have sent back, and they have quickly gained immense popularity among savvy shoppers.

One keen bargain hunter has shared a video of a £250 Amazon returns pallet on her YouTube page, ‘TheSliceOfJess.’

She revealed that she managed to get £1,512.37 worth of products in her pallet. And the theme of the items varied completely.

For example, she received four Christmas trees, a children’s slide, and a dog crate.

Speaking to her 29.8K subscribers, she said: “I won’t lie, I thought there would be a little more electrical stuff.”

However, she revealed that the box was described as containing “household/kitchen” items.

Jess adds: “First, I would recommend, if you are going to do something like this.

“Get it delivered to a friend or house that has a garage or a decent sized house, because my house is small.”

She continued: “I don’t know where to put it all.”

Jess spent £250 on it altogether, which included £160 on the pallet and then £90 on the delivery, and hoped to make more money on it.

Her pallet included a baby car seat which “looks in good nick” and had a market value of £59.99.

A set of Azzoro towels, which “don’t look good quality” but “are a nice colour.”

Jess hoped to sell them at their market value, but if she doesn’t, she will donate to charity.

She also received a complete bedding set

She also received Silent Night products, including a sleep mattress topper, two pillows that have been partially opened, a duvet for a single bed with a 7.5 tog that cost £19, a double 4.5 tog summer duvet, as well as a king-size summer duvet.

There was also a shower chair, which “doesn’t look used, just scuffed with a couple of dirty marks,” and has a market value of £59.99.

She also got a shower tent with instructions; “it looks like it’s never been opened. The bag looks fine. It looks decent.”

Other items included wallpaper, a black soft-close toilet, iDesign stainless steel coasters for £10, a coaster rack, five mugs including a Call of Duty Black Ops mug, a sealed Planks 2 Play box (retailing at £16), a boltless shelving unit, and a kids’ walking trainer toy (retailing at £68 and barely used).

There was also an insulation-free bed rail, an outdoor pet canopy, and a giant inflatable bear with a Santa hat.

But the thing she was most excited about was the perfectly functional pet stroller which “just had a tiny mark on it. It still has the wrapping on it. The wheels are still intact.”

Total worth

The Amazon returns pallet, in total, was worth £1,512.37.

Speaking about her entire haul, Jess finished the video by saying: “I cannot believe how much stuff there is.

“Only things like the units might be missing pieces, but who knows. I really enjoyed doing this.

“However, if I do this again, it will have to be at my parents’ house because this is ridiculous.

“I have nowhere to put it all. We don’t have a garage.

“We don’t have a shed or any spare rooms. I literally have one bedroom in my house, and this will not fit in it.

“I’ll have to call my parents.”

Her video gained over 468,552 views with over 250 people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “I enjoyed this nearly as much as you appear to have, great fun for the price, well done and good luck with the next one.”

A second added: “Absolutely do it again it’s exciting guessing what you are unwrapping and you could make a huge profit should you decide to sell.”

Whilst a third said: “I’m tempted to buy one and take the stuff to a boot sale!

“I feel like some of this stuff would be perfect for somewhere like that!”
