I have 8 jobs and earn £60K – it sounds like hard work but I still have time for family days out whenever I want

FIVE years ago, Nicola Kelleher was a broke mum after she splurged on a Range Rover.

Now, at the age of 42, she has transformed her life and rakes in £60,000 a year while juggling eight jobs.

Speaking to Fabulous for our new Talking Money YouTube series, Nicola reveals how she has eight jobs to keep up with her lavish life and give her more freedom and flexibility to spend time with her daughter, Ivy and partner, Ramesh.

Nicola revealed that she was left ‘humbled’ when Covid hit and lost her income, but now, makes more than ever with just one of her jobs as a psychic earning her £60,000 a year.

Just before the pandemic hit, Nicola was working on a toothpaste commercial and was paid the hefty sum of £35,000.

She says: “I literally worked for one hour. It was an amazing job, one hour in Paris, and I got paid about £35,000 for that one hour.”

Instead of putting the money aside, she decided to splash out on a Range Rover, not knowing that the world was about to change in a way none of us had ever seen before.

“I bought myself a top of the range Range Rover. And then the pandemic hit and you weren’t allowed to go anywhere.

“I lost everything. I had to start again.

“I was the same as everyone, signing on, doing whatever we could.”

But Nicola doesn’t regret it now as she’s learned a valuable lesson about money and buying into a lifestyle you can’t afford.

Cashing In

She explains: “It brought me back down to earth, you see? You’ve got to be humble. You can’t be too flashy because it’ll get taken away.””

The mum-of-one decided she would do anything to make some extra cash when she came across a course for wedding celebrancy and funeral celebrancy and decided to sign up.

She revealed that it wasn’t long ago she was a celebrant for a Lord of the Rings-themed wedding, even wearing her own elf ears to fit in with the wedding party.

Not only is she happy to chuck on some elf ears to line her wallet, she also dresses up as a Dolly Parton impersonator.

“It’s fun. Everyone loves Dolly Parton, and when she comes out in all her glory and the music starts, everyone’s toes are tapping,” she says.

Nicola has five other jobs to add to her résumé, including being an actress, TV presenter, author, sound bath healer and psychic.

I love my eight jobs, but it’s good to have that flexibility when my partner’s so poorly.

But Nicola’s favourite part of juggling multiple roles is that she can pick and choose when and what she does to spend time looking after her family.

“My partner is a kidney transplant patient. I gave him my kidney in 2010, but it didn’t work as well as it should have done, she explains. “So he’s now waiting for another transplant.

“And we have a daughter who’s autistic and we don’t have a support group.

“I love my eight jobs, but it’s good to have that flexibility when my partner’s so poorly.”

Nicola never planned to become a professional psychic but had a mentor who taught her to read cards.

She adds: “I started doing it as a bit of fun for friends. And then those friends would say, ‘Well, I’ve got a friend that needs some advice. Can you do a reading for them?’ And everyone kept coming back with really amazing feedback.

“There were some things that I couldn’t possibly have known. And the more I did it, the better I got. And then people started to say, ‘I’ll pay you.’

“So I began to make money out of it and it’s just ran from there.”

My biggest money blind spots, my children and my dogs.

Now, Nicola says she makes £60,000 from being a psychic and doesn’t feel bad splurging on herself or her family.

The mum has two dogs she spends £100 a month feeding ‘human grade food’ as well as splurging £150 a month on taking her daughter out.

“My biggest money blind spots, my children and my dogs. I spend around £150 a month on days out for my daughter,” she reveals.

“She’s autistic, she needs a lot of stimulation. She’s got a lot of energy, a bit like me.”

But the mum doesn’t forget to treat herself as well, she spends £200 on takeaway and eating out every month and £150 on beauty treatments to keep her grey hairs at bay.

Nicola also revealed her kryptonite was fancy cakes that she can’t stop herself from buying.

“I do spend far too much on cakes, really fancy, lovely cakes,” she says. “I could go into Harrods or a really posh place in London and see some lovely cakes, and by the time you’ve bought six, you’ve spent £75, which is ridiculous.

“I don’t do it every day, but if I see them, got to have them.”

Now Nicola is on more money than ever, she is about to make her most expensive purchase ever, a new home priced at £266,500.

As for her advice to others wanting to have more cash in their bank accounts, Nicola says you should never be afraid to hustle and find your ‘wealth corner’.

Until I was happy doing what I love doing, that was when I started to earn really good money and I could command it.

In Feng Shui, your wealth corner is the left furthest corner in your home and you should place a citrine crystal there to attract money.

Nicola reveals it worked for her, explaining: “I found the corner, put the citrine there. I waited. 24 hours later, I got a £1,800 tax rebate.”

She also says you shouldn’t be ashamed of having a side hustle and bettering your life.

“If you’re coming out of the corporate world, going into something else, or you’re really trying to build a new career, is always have a side hustle. And don’t worry about the shame of the side hustle,” she adds.

“Don’t worry that you’re not doing the thing that you set out to do every single day.”

“I wish that I had known that working for myself and doing my own thing would be way more valuable than working for someone else because I spent a lot of years struggling,” Nicola continues.

“Until I was happy doing what I love doing, that was when I started to earn really good money and I could command it. But having the flexibility and freedom to work as and when I want, for me is great.”
