Charlotte, a savvy DIY fan from the UK who is currently “adding character” to her “characterless 1960s home”, admitted that she couldn’t afford to splash the cash on new slabs or decking, so decided to create her own.

Charlotte explained that she got her wooden pallets for free from a local builders’ merchants.
The content creator, who has amassed 85,600 followers online, cut the pallets and screwed them into place on her decking, to create a super stylish and trendy herringbone effect.
She spent £30 on screws, £10 on membrane and £30 on front timber.
As well as this, the savvy mum spent £10 on wood treatment oil which she used to coat the decking, bringing her total cost to just £80.
Charlotte accessorised the space with a gorgeous grey outdoor seating set and we think her garden is sure to leave eagle-eyed neighbours and guests very impressed.
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @holman_home, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and amassed 1.1 million views.
It’s also racked up 15,300 likes, 353 comments and 7,075 saves.
But social media users were left totally divided by Charlotte’s patio renovation.
