MOSS can ruin the look of patios and can be a pain to banish for good.
But you don’t need to spend a fortune to get the job done, in fact a kitchen staple is all you need and it does all the hard work for you.

That’s what one homeowner discovered when he boiled his electric kettle to remove moss in front of his house.
He took to TikTok to share the results, leaving fellow social media users stunned too.
In the viral video he explained: “Get the hot water [from the kettle] straight down on to that patio and then after a day or two you’ll see it all die.”
It really is as simple as pouring the boiling water over the moss and waiting for it to die.
After the moss starts to brown and die off simply use a hard bristled brush to get rid of it.
And if there is still any green moss left simply repeat the process once more.
According to the pros from iDream Solutions, the key to a moss-free driveway or patio is “a combination of natural treatments and good, ongoing maintenance.”
The recommended treatments are boiling water, vinegar, and baking soda for natural remedies, but there some other tricks to keep moss at bay too.
Sunlight: According to the experts, moss thrives in damp and shaded conditions, so making sure cars are moved regularly as well as pots and any other large object will help.
Vinegar Solution: Vinegar has a high acid content and works well as a natural moss killer.
Simply mix 4 cups of vinegar, ¼ cup of salt and water together then spray the solution on any affected spots.
After 20 minutes wash it all away with water.
Baking Soda: Baking soda is another good trick as it helps raise the pH level of the surface, meaning moss can’t grow there.
Al you need to do is sprinkle it over mossy areas, wait for it to absorb and then scrub it away.
Jet Washing: One of the best methods is jet washing, or pressure washing – if you have or can get your hands on a machine of course.
This method should be used with caution though, since tarmac is soft and can be damaged by the high pressure.
